Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to website owners, and improve the user experience. Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we must obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.
Cookies This Site Sets
None. This website sets no cookies at all — not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for anything else. Earlier versions of this page listed Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies; none of them were ever in use here, and the list has been removed rather than left to imply tracking that does not happen.
We do measure how many people visit which pages, because otherwise we cannot tell whether the guidance is reaching anyone. That is done with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving by design: it sets no cookie, stores no identifier on your device, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you. Because nothing is stored on your device, no consent is required for it under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and there is no cookie banner on this site.
If that ever changes — if a cookie or tracking technology that is not strictly necessary is introduced — this page will say so, and your consent will be asked for first.
Managing Your Preferences
There is nothing to manage, because there is nothing to consent to. This site previously showed a cookie banner offering “analytics” and “marketing” toggles, but no such cookies existed and nothing was ever connected to those switches. Rather than leave a banner that governed nothing, it has been removed.
You can still control cookies through your browser settings, and blocking them will not affect anything on this site.
Third-Party Cookies
There are none. This site embeds no third-party advertising, social media widgets, chat tools, video players or tag managers, so no other company can set a cookie through it.
